This pattern details a one size version, but there are really endless designs you can make in the background of this quilt just by rotating the block different ways. After that, a very traditional block emerged and the background was born. It only took a little while longer for them to go from squares and rectangles to half square triangles. I immediately fell in love with the look. Somewhere along the way and hours of play in Illustrator, I tried inverting the inner and outer background colors. While designing Happyfolk, I spent quite a bit of time playing with the center of a Dresden and the shape behind it. Love this pattern, well written and easy to understand.I never tire of playing with Dresden plates. I really love how she made spaces for notes. She has thorough easy to follow directions for each section. I love this pattern! I really love how Melanie designed the pattern pages, the layout and how she writes her instructions. I love everything Melanie does and sells. Highly recommend.Ī beautiful pattern booklet in a cello package. Pattern instructions are well done, complete with pictures for us that need visuals. Love the modern twist on this quilt block. Looks a bit complicated for me at this point, but I'm adding it to my other beautiful paper quilt patterns! It's a wonderful pattern and I'll look forward to making it! Recommend this pattern for quilters with some experience as the half rectangle rectangles are a bit challenging but not that difficult if you follow the diagrams and tips. The directions are clear and easy to follow with embeded links to videos for tips and helpful info. The booklet is full page size which is great as it is easy to read and keep track of (I'm messy).
